Grimsby Town take on Rushden and Diamonds tonight at Blundell Park in the replay of the game that was called off due to fog. But fans tell me that they are annoyed that they are being charged again to watch the game, albeit half price.
They forked out the full price for the match that was called off, and with the ticket stub are able to get in tonight for half price. But should they be charged at all?
Isn't it like going to a cinema and watching a film and the projector cutting out halfway through. What does the cinema do? It gives you a refund, of course, and you go back and see it and pay full price again. But you have only paid full price once.
The game was called off just after half price, but whilst all the goals have been wiped out, fans did get half a game of entertainment, so shouldn't they pay for that?
The club would argue that it costs them to hold a game, whether it is called off halfway through or not, but then that's the same for the cinema, isn't it?
So what do you think? Is it right to charge again for the rearranged game?

No, fans, with proof that they paid to see the original game, shouldn't have to pay again tonight! Obviously they a loyal fans and should be treated as such. Let those with ticket stubs from the abandoned game have free entry into tonight's fame.

Surely, they must have insurance policies for such eventualities. I know they would have to pay the police, stewards etc to turn out last time, as well as tonight, so they do have bills to pay.
