A warm welcome and good food, freshly prepared and reasonably priced.

Twiggies is situated away from the main tourist areas of Cleethorpes - I found it by accident. A lucky accident. I was alone when I went in for a cup of tea but Flo, the owner, is very friendly and made me feel at home straight away. The interior is clean and pretty, with white furniture and blue gingham tablecloths. I ordered a cream tea. As the food is freshly prepared I had a little time, (not too long), to browse the clothes and bric-a- brac which are also for sale in the cafe. My cream tea was delicious and I resolved to go back. The second time I took a friend who ordered the prawn Marie-Rose sandwich. Again freshly prepared, it looked delicious and my friend confirmed that it was. I haven't tried the Sunday lunch yet, but at £5.95 for 2 courses and a choice of 3 types of meat for the main course, I am hoping to try it soon. Another bonus is that the cafe is open until 7pm most nights. I have shopped on St. Peter's Avenue in the past and could not get a cup of tea after 4.30pm as the cafes were closing, and this was in the holiday season. I would certainly recommend Twiggies for good food and excellent value.

    Freshly cooked and delicious

Just tried Twiggies two-course Sunday lunch - wow! it was fantastic the food was freshly cooked and delicious - like a home from home. Two-courses on a Sunday is great value at £5.95, where else can you get such fresh home-made food for that price?

    Good homemade fayre

Good homemade food and very reasonable prices. From just enjoying a coffee to a three-course meal - excellent. I would certainly recommend it to anyone. Check out their gifts too - some lovely pieces and some very unusual ones too.
