Our North East Lincolnshire Council Trading Standards has been praised for its excellent levels of service following a rigorous inspection from an external organisation.
The Advice Quality Standard (AQS) organisation awards quality marks to services that offer the highest standards of independent legal information, advice and support to local communities.
The council's Trading Standards team recently received the accolade by demonstrating their accessibility to the public, effective management structures together with their highly skilled and knowledgeable staff.
Councillor Dave Bolton, the council's portfolio holder for community safety and neighbourhoods, said: "This award shows the commitment and passion that our officers have for ensuring consumers and businesses are always protected when buying goods and services.
"The staff manage a busy service that dealt with more than 4,500 enquiries from residents during 2012. They work hard to ensure the right advice is given to achieve a positive outcome for those who use the service."
