Forget the egg and spoon race we Cleethorpes people run with a frying pan!
And they're off! The first annual Cleethorpes Pancake Race along the prom.

Today was the first Cleethorpes Annual Pancake Race along the prom.
And on such a bitterly cold Shrove Tuesday a brave, great bunch of pancake racers took to their heels with their pancakes, kindly made by Crepe Lucette.

And the winner was Emma Shadlock, 25, of the YMCA who was presented with a certificate from a volunteer from St Andrews Hospice.
With proceeds going to St Andrews Hospice in Grimsby there was a great sense of fun during the race with pancakes being tossed right, left and centre!
The 'race' was organised by the Lincolnshire Food Festival 2013 which makes a welcome return to the Cleethorpes Meridian Park in September.
Well done to everyone who took part!
