Defence of title continues as pair come through tough test in Scunthorpe Telegraph Golf Challenge

The second round of the men's section in the 2012 Telegraph Golf Challenge has produced a series of ding-dong tussles.
AWARDS: Above, Scotter Juniors Under-16s won their division in the Jack Kalson League by nine points, the second year in succession they were crowned champions. They also claimed the Under-16s Divisional Cup with a 5-0 victory over Epworth. TOP TOURNAMENT: The Shurjodoy Badminton Club held their annual tournament, which was brought to a close at The Pods. Around 80 people fully enjoyed the tournament, but the champions were M Safar and Jubayer. Second place went to Mukit and Huda and Sadikur and Ruhel came third Picture: Carl Gac

Five of the ties completed so far went beyond the regulation 18 holes.
Defending champions Steve Dixon and Rick Storey, of Forest Pines, came through a tough looking test, winning 3&2 at Grimsby against Clive Jenkins and John Shone.
There are still some outstanding matches to be played – and these must be completed by this coming Sunday.
The draw for round three will be made early next week and will be featured in next week's Scunthorpe Telegraph.
This weekend is also deadline time for the first round of the ladies and senior men's competitions.
