Choosing a school for your child is one the most important decisions a parent / carer can make.

North East Lincolnshire Local Authority is consulting on the proposed school admission arrangements for the 2014-2015 school year for admission into:

Reception Year at all primary and infant schools and academies;

Year 3 in all junior schools and academies; and

Year 7 in all secondary schools and academies

The local authority is the admission authority for community and voluntary controlled primary schools in its area.

The admission arrangements for primary and secondary schools and academies that are their own admission authority are also being consulted on by the local authority on their behalf.

The proposed school admission arrangements for 2014-2015 are available for inspection on the Council's website.

If you wish to see a hard copy of the proposed admission arrangements please call the council's Access and Education Welfare Services team to arrange a visit on (01472) 323316.

Responses to the consultation for community and voluntary controlled schools can be made by February 28 by e-mail to schooladmissions@nelincs.gov.uk or in writing to Access and Education Welfare Services, Western Site, Cambridge Road, Grimsby, DN34 5TD.

Responses to the consultation for those schools and academies that are their own admission authorities should be made in writing or by e-mail directly to the relevant school or academy.

Councillor Ian Lindley, Portfolio Holder for People and Communities said:

"North East Lincolnshire Council is keen to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to respond to this consultation. All children and young people should be able to access education fairly and we aim to ensure that this is possible, so your views are important to us".
